Right Whales and Climate Change: Trying to Hit a Moving Target

It’s been nothing but hard times for the North Atlantic Right Whale ever since being marked the ‘right’ whale to hunt about 500 years ago due to its sluggish habits and positively buoyant physique (ie. they float and are relatively easy to kill). They were nearly wiped out by the late 1700s, and only ~400 of them are estimated to exist today.
