Witsnuitdolfijnen voor Belgische kust

Noordzee, 23 juni 2022 – Vanop het onderzoeksschip de Belgica kwam de melding van 10 witsnuitdolfijnen voor de Belgische kust t.h.v. Knokke.Deze dolfijnensoort wordt slechts zeer uitzonderlijk voor onze kust gezien. bron: waarnemingen.be

White-beaked dolphin calf on Orkney beach

On Saturday 22nd January 2022, BDMLR were alerted to what was reported to be a live stranded harbour porpoise on the beach in Scapa, Orkney. Unfortunately, before our Marine Mammal Medics arrived, the animal had been refloated by well-meaning members of the public, and on arrival our medics sadly found the animal floating listlessly in the water where it appeared to have drowned.

Levende witsnuitdolfijn Kijkduin

Kijkduin, 7 augustus 2019 – Op het strand van Kijkduin is vanmiddag een Witsnuitdolfijn levend aangespoeld. Medewerkers van de Reddingsbrigade Kijkduin/Scheveningen hebben direct eerste hulp verleend door het dier nat te houden en geprobeerd het dier rechtop te krijgen zodat het blaasgat vrij was.
